This is a demonstration of the “Tron effect” — using the green and red to outline the body of dancers. It can be done live or on recorded footage in realtime.

I just finished jamming in Max for a while. I ported my “probability sequencer” patch so it plays samples instead of sending MIDI to the system. I intend to combine this with the currently in-progress generative/algorithmic stuff I’ve been writing in Ruby, but for tonight I just had a blast jamming!
I made this track a while ago and want to do something with it. I’d love to hear some ideas.

This excerpt is the first of several demos of live video processing techniques. The processing can be applied to live camera input in realtime or to movie files (in this case, just the input from the MacBook camera). Some of these effects are being controlled manually; others are being directly controlled by information retrieved from the audio signal — here the amplitude of the audio is multiplied by its spectral centroid to control how much the video appears to come out at the viewer on the z-axis.
