The simplicity of the idea versus the affect and of the manipulated image is powerful. Boiling to pixels down to points on a 3D plane, and attributing differences in the z-axis to light/color/movement, allows for the viewer to shift between the forest and the trees. A metaphor for potentially endless shifting of POV.

Hi Adam,

I love your “experiments” but I’d say they’re much more than experiments, these are wonderful videos, with a lot of integrity, and beautiful sense of rhythm. I like it when a work asks me to care about (or for) the image, and your videos certainly do that.

Keep making, posting, etc.

First of all, it’s cool that you can play media while commenting on it. This is a neat piece. I especially like the sound that starts coming in around 2:30 (guessing). it’s got an 8th note pulse to it, and eventually changes to something a bit a more staggered.

i’ve been wanting to compose something like this myself. we’ll see.
